At the interval last Sunday there were Wasps fans speculating whether we could pass the 60 point barrier in our fixture against Scunthorpe and lo and behold we did!  The Scorpions are a good team as their league position reflects but there has been a consistent belief that not only do we have a capable team but as our clutch of first time riders gained experience over the season that we would impact as time ticked on.  We saw evidence of that in the abandoned away fixture at Kings Lynn but last Sunday we were so dominant and that is encouraging for the future.  Also the riders liked the track and the feedback from them was positive.

Today we must keep up the good work on and off the track as we face another team of fine reputation from the top half of the table.  All the teams in the cluster at the bottom end of the Premier League are winning at home at present so we must keep our momentum up if we want to break clear and squeeze in the Jack Young Shield.

Looking a little closer into the diary we have a busy weekend to contemplate soon on Saturday August 7th and Sunday August 8th.  There is the National League Pairs on the Saturday afternoon at 2.30pm when the Hornets duo will be defending the title and on Sunday the Wasps race the Somerset Rebels in the Premier League at 2.30pm.  We have a special offer for the Sunday of adult entrance for a tenner so why not encourage those ex Wasps fans who populate our city to take advantage?  The offer is likely to be popular on the other side of the Severn Bridge with visiting fans too so there should be quite and atmosphere for this local derby.  Spread the word!
